Marketing Director

Level Ex is an award-winning game studio creating industry-leading mobile, AR, and VR games that present ultra-realistic, fully interactive virtual patients that physicians can explore to improve clinical decision-making with real patients. Through using state-of-the-art visual effects and game design methodologies, we’re revolutionizing the way physicians keep up-to-speed about disease presentations, challenging cases, the latest surgical techniques, and new medical devices and drug therapies to stay sharp in their specialty.

We’re now looking for a seasoned, cross-channel Marketing Director to execute the company’s brand strategy, own marketing communications, and audience development programs for its suite of mobile-based video games targeting physicians, medical students, and other healthcare professionals.

The ideal candidate has experience working on early-stage brands, can work lock-step in a fast-paced startup, and probably geeks out about medicine, video games, or both! You must have experience with creative strategy across both offline and digital channels, maintaining brand consistency, building product messaging, developing advertising campaigns, collaborating with product specialists on retention tactics, marketing program measurement, working with marketing agencies, and supervisor/manager experience.

Responsibilities

  • Strategy: Distill product vision, brand vision and strategic objectives into product-level marketing plans focused on mobile app adoption and engagement: a unique mix of entertainment and educational positioning

  • Creative: Work closely with product, marketing, and leadership teams to develop product briefs for use by marketing, craft product positioning of features and benefits, and build library of product messaging for use across the department (working closely with a content/copywriter)

    • Video: Own video strategy and overarching approach to telling the company and product stories through video

    • Manage marketing graphic designers, and work closely with in-house creative director and game art team.   

  • Media Planning: Craft and manage the media plans for 4 mobile apps in Anesthesiology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology and Pulmonology, working closely with Digital UA, Events, and other marketing specialists on the team

    • Hit growth targets for registered app users to meet business/revenue objectives

    • Measure and optimize ROI for programs

    • Support PR efforts with PR specialists and agencies

  • Data Analytics: Oversee marketing reporting functions across team and own KPI dashboards used across the organization

  • Social Media/Community Management: Execute product messaging and newsworthy/engaging content across company’s social channels, blogs, website, etc. with team

    • Ensure timely response to users via social and app store channels

  • Product: Support product and design teams in key feature decisions and roadmap planning, user journeys and personas, marketing IT projects, etc.

  • Market Research: Facilitate primary research surveys, focus groups, interviews, and own collection of 3rd party research with team

  • Vendors: Lead any vendor RFP and manage existing vendor relationships that support mobile app marketing efforts

  • Budget: Manage related spending, accruals, invoices, and develop marketing forecasts based on marketing plans

  • Management: The role reports to the CMO and will manage a team of 3 - 5 marketers and creative staff

Qualifications

  • 7 - 10 years of experience marketing consumer and healthcare technology products that are web and/or mobile app based

  • Multi-channel/Cross-channel marketing strategy experience with an emphasis on data-driven, results-oriented campaigns

  • Experience working with creative teams and/or agencies including creative brief development a must

  • Must have seen a product through its launch and first year in market  

  • Hands on experience or supervised digital marketing teams running advertising with large publishers (e.g. Google,  Facebook, Apple, Instagram, and similar digital marketing platforms)

  • Highly analytical, strong understanding of product engagement metrics and tracking/attribution platforms. Able to pivot readily and react to real-time data.  

  • Seasoned in managing timelines, delivery, dependencies, communication across teams including presentations to senior management

  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills including experience managing high performing teams

  • Entrepreneurial mindset. Positive, people-oriented, and energetic attitude.

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or similar discipline preferred

  • Advertising monetization experience a plus

  • Global marketing experience a plus

  • PR experience a plus
